Mary

Kensey holds her bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton in her native Ohio, and master’s degree in trombone performance from DePaul University in Chicago. Her principal teachers have been Charlie Vernon, Floyd Cooley, and Tim Anderson. Kensey was a two-time winner of the University of Dayton Concerto/Aria Competition, and was a featured soloist with the wind ensemble during their Chicago tour in 2006. Currently, she is a freelance musician, and is the instructor of low brass at Lane Tech College Preparatory High School. Kensey has played with orchestras including the Northwest Indiana Symphony, Elmhurst Symphony, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
