Katie has been with the Gargoyle Brass since August of 2007. She recently graduated from Valparaiso University with a double major B.A. in Music and Political Science. While at Valparaiso, Katie was a member of the Valparaiso University Symphony, Chamber Concert Band, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, and Horn Choir, and was the 2005 recipient of the Norm Hannewald Brass Chair Award. Katie is a Chicago native where she is an active member of several Chicago musical groups, including the University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She currently studies horn with Melanie Cottle of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, and is pursuing graduate studies in horn performance.
