Rodney is the organizer of the Chicago Gargoyle Brass, which he founded during his days at the University of Chicago as a post-doctoral fellow in neurobiology and as Sr. Lecturer in the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division. He has studied tuba under the tutelage of Rex Martin and Charlie Schuchat.
In addition to performing with the Gargoyle Brass, Rodney has been a member of the Camerata Vocal Ensemble and South Suburban Jazz Orchestra, and has played with the DuPage Symphony, Evanston Symphony, and Wheaton Symphony Orchestras. He is currently a member of the Chicago Brass Band and is principal tuba in the University of Chicago Wind Ensemble and Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra.
